These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lightli's mobile applications, websites, subscriptions, and related services. By accessing or using any Lightli app (Journalmi, Routino, Cycle, Quitly, Listly, Gymly), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our services. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, downloading, or using any Lightli application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use Lightli on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Description of Service
Lightli provides a range of mobile applications for wellness, productivity, and lifestyle management:
- Journalmi: A modular journal and diary app
- Routino: A habit-based routine manager
- Cycle: A menstrual cycle and period tracker
- Quitly: A sobriety timer for tracking quitting habits
- Listly: A notes and lists app for tasks and todos
- Gymly: A workout tracker and gym planner
3. Eligibility
By using Lightli, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You are at least 13 years old, or you use Lightli only with consent and supervision from a parent or guardian
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms with you
- You are not prohibited from using our services under UK law or the laws of your jurisdiction
4. Account Registration and Security
Account Creation
Some features require you to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Guest Mode
You may use some apps in "guest mode" without an account. Data stored in guest mode is stored on our servers with an anonymous account linked to an anonymous user ID. Anonymous accounts are automatically deleted 30 days from creation.
5. Acceptable Use
Permitted Use
You may use Lightli services for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Use our services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code
- Scrape, data-mine, or extract data from our services
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our applications
- Use our services to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes
- Circumvent any security features or access controls
- Use automated systems (bots) to access our services
6. User Content
Your Rights
You retain all ownership rights to content you create, upload, or store in Lightli apps (journal entries, habits, lists, cycle data, etc.).
License to Lightli
By storing content in our apps, you grant Lightli a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content only as needed to:
- Store and display your content back to you
- Back up your content to our secure servers
- Process your content to provide app functionality
We will not sell your personal content, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy or with your explicit consent.
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your content. You agree that your content:
- Does not violate any laws or regulations
- Does not infringe on intellectual property rights
- Does not contain harmful, offensive, or illegal material
7. Subscription and Payment
Free Trial
We may offer a free trial period for premium features. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.
Premium Subscription
- Subscriptions are billed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android)
- All payment processing is handled by Apple and Google - we do not store or process payment information
- The relevant App Store or Google Play terms also apply to purchases, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store/Play Store account settings
- Refunds are handled according to App Store/Play Store policies and any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you
Price Changes
We may change subscription prices. Price changes will be communicated in advance where required and will not affect your current subscription period, but may apply at renewal subject to the App Store or Google Play rules.
8. Intellectual Property
Lightli's Rights
All intellectual property rights in Lightli apps, including but not limited to:
- App design, layout, and user interface
- Logos, trademarks, and branding
- Code, algorithms, and functionality
- Documentation and content
...are owned by Lightli LTD and protected by UK and international copyright laws.
9. User Feedback and Suggestions
By submitting feedback, ideas, suggestions, feature requests, or other communications through our in-app contact form or any other communication, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Lightli shall have a royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, and transferable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, and otherwise use such Feedback for any purpose, without restriction or obligation of any kind
- Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as granting you any right, title, or interest in any products, services, or features that may incorporate or be inspired by your Feedback
- Lightli is under no obligation to use, implement, or respond to any Feedback received
- You waive any claims relating to any past, present, or future intellectual property rights, moral rights, or other proprietary rights in connection with such Feedback
You represent that you have the right to submit such Feedback and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of Lightli services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with UK GDPR.
Our commitment: We collect and process your data primarily for operational purposes, including providing the services you've requested, maintaining and improving app functionality, fixing technical issues and crashes, and enhancing your experience. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Our Privacy Policy also explains how to request access, export, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Exports are intended to provide your personal data and app-created content in a structured format while protecting account security, other users, and backend infrastructure.
11. Third-Party Services
Our apps may integrate with third-party services:
- Google Sign-In: For authentication (governed by Google's terms)
- Apple Sign-In: For authentication (governed by Apple's terms)
- App Store and Google Play: For app distribution, subscriptions, billing, and refunds
- Firebase: For data storage and analytics (Google's service)
- Google Analytics: For usage analytics
We are not responsible for third-party services, their terms, or their privacy practices.
12. Service Availability and Modifications
Service Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service
- Update app functionality and features
- Perform maintenance that may temporarily affect service availability
No Guarantee of Availability
We strive to provide reliable services but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Subject to Section 13 and applicable law, we are not responsible for service interruptions, downtime, or data loss outside our reasonable control.
13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service "As Is"
Lightli services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of content
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Medical Disclaimer
Important: Lightli apps (especially Cycle and Journalmi) are NOT medical devices and should NOT be used for medical diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any condition. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical advice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lightli LTD shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from use or inability to use our services
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Third-party conduct or content
Where liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses that Lightli LTD incurs because of:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or regulations
- Your content or data
- Your use or misuse of our services
15. Termination
Termination by You
You may stop using our services at any time. To delete your account and data:
- Open the app and navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or
- Contact us at hello@lightli.uk
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Have not used your account for 24+ months (we'll notify you first)
Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice before suspension or termination. We may act immediately for serious breaches, security risks, fraud, or legal requirements.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to services will cease immediately
- We may delete your data according to our retention policy
- Provisions regarding intellectual property, liability, and indemnification survive termination
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be effective when posted unless a later date is stated. We will notify you of material changes via:
- Email notification (if you have an account)
- In-app notification
- Notice on our website
Your continued use of Lightli services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the services and cancel any subscription before its next renewal.
17. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from relying on mandatory consumer protection laws that apply where you live.
Jurisdiction
Subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer, disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Lightli services shall be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal claim, please contact us at hello@lightli.uk to attempt informal resolution.
18. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lightli LTD.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms where it does not materially reduce your rights under them.
